Wolfe Tones GAC – 9th April 2022
Lurgan Credit Union recently made a donation to Wolfe Tones GAC.
Our donation helped with the purchasing of the U12.5 girls match jerseys and will be used by the U12.5 girls team for the next 2-3 years.

Scoil Rince O’Dowd – 6th April 2022
Lurgan Credit Union recently made a donation to Scoil Rince O’Dowd.
Scoil Rince O’Dowd is an Irish Dancing community group founded in 2013 by Mrs Aislinn McCavigan and based in Derrytrasna. They operate 5 nights a week across two venues, supporting the wellbeing of 48 students through weekly classes.
Our donation will help with the purchasing of Irish Dancing dresses to be owned by the club and utilised by passing on to new generations of team dancers for years to come.

Brownlow IC. – 31st March 2022

Lurgan Credit Union recently made a donation to Brownlow IC. Our donation helped to fund the Primary Soccer festival that was held recently at the College.
The tournament is in its 14th year and this year was a huge success!! The pupils, teachers and volunteers attending had a fantastic day as did the GCSE students from the college that did the organising. The GCSE students help to organise to gain experience organising and running a sports tournament.
Well done to all involved!

George Russell Festival Society – 31st March 2022

Lurgan Credit Union recently made a donation to the George Russell Festival Society.
The Society runs an Annual Festival in Lurgan, based around the heritage of George Russell – better known as ‘A.E.’.
Russell, from Lurgan, was one of Ireland’s most important public figures over the period 1895-1930, a celebrated writer, poet and painter.
The festival includes various talks and a historic walking tour as well as poetry readings and ‘open mic’ nights. As Russell was a fantastic artist as well as poet, author, editor and publisher, the Festival includes exhibitions of his art
Our donation will go towards the week long exhibition that runs from the 4th- 10th April.

Oxford Sunnyside Football Club – 30th March 2022

Lurgan Credit Union recently made a donation to Oxford Sunnyside Football Club. Our donation will help with the purchasing of training equipment for the Over 35’s team.

Lurgan Bowling Club – 30th March 2022

Lurgan Credit Union recently made a donation to Lurgan Bowling Club. Our donation will help to fund the development and launch of their new website in order to attract new members to the club.

Sean Treacys Hurling Club – 27th January 2022

Lurgan Credit Union recently made a donation to Sean Treacys Hurling Club. The donation was made to help with the introduction of Ladies Social Rounders into the club. Our donation will help to purchase a kit and other resources for the ladies rounders team.

North Lurgan Community Association – 17th December 2021

Lurgan Credit Union recently made a donation to the North Lurgan Community Association to help fundraise for the Santa Grotto that they run each year.

The Santa’s Grotto was set up in 2019 by local resident Conor Thompson and his family. The Grotto has since grown considerably with the help and support of the local community, who invest hours of their time ensuring that the Grotto runs smoothly for all of the families who come to visit and share in the magical experience.

This year they have decided to donate all of the proceeds from the Santa’s Grotto to Friends of the Cancer Centre.

Totz and Teenz Nursery – 16th December 2021

Lurgan Credit Union recently made a donation to Totz and Teenz Nursery. Our donation will help go towards the purchasing of sensory play resources for the children.

MADS (Moyraverty Arts and Drama Society) – 23rd November 2021

Lurgan Credit Union recently made a donation to MADS (Moyraverty Arts and Drama Society).

MADS was established in 2002 and has produced hundreds of shows and musicals during this time. Lurgan Credit Unions donation helped to fund towards the costs involved with the production of the film.

Menshed Ozanam Centre – 19th November 2021

Lurgan Credit Union recently made a donation to Menshed Ozanam Centre.

Ozanam Menshed was set up to offer an opportunity for men to come together informally and chose a practical activity at a safe, friendly and inclusive venue.

Lurgan Credit Unions donation will help to fund towards the Christmas woodworking and art classes.

 

Bayshore Sports and Social Club – 19th November 2021

Lurgan Credit Union recently made a donation to Bayshore Sports and Social Club.

The Bayshore Sports and Social Club is a community owned club serving the greater Derrytrasna area. Their members are drawn from all sections of the community. The premises are available seven days a week for use by members and is made available free of charge to groups and families for various activities such as dance classes, comhaltas sessions, birthdays, christenings and other family occasions.

Any proceeds from their own fund raising activities are used to maintain their premises and assist fund raising groups in the community.

Our donation will help to fund towards the purchasing of the community defibrillator.

Love Life Counselling NI – 21st October 2021

Lurgan Credit Union recently made a donation to Love Life Counselling NI.

Love Life Counselling NI is a community interest company which provides a caring mental health service for Co. Antrim, Armagh and the surrounding areas. The services they provide include free face to face, Zoom and telephone counselling, training and support groups.

Our donation will help to fund their weekly walk, talk and coffee support group.

Craigavon Marie Curie Fundraising Group – 5th August 2021

Lurgan Credit Union have recently made a donation to Craigavon Marie Curie Fundraising Group.

Marie Curie provide a free service to the people they care for and their families. They provide care and support for around 2,500 people living with a terminal illness in Northern Ireland each year.

Our donation will go a long way in helping Marie Curie carry out their work, particularly during the pandemic when their fundraising opportunities have curtailed.
