Cashier Vacancy

Lurgan Credit Union Limited is a community-based organisation and a member of the Irish League of Credit Unions and is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority.  It was established for the purpose of encouraging its members to accumulate savings so as to make available loans and additional services for the wider benefit of all the membership.

This is a dynamic organisation currently employing 29 staff and dedicated to developing a range of quality services to its 27,000 members’.

We seek to recruit front line staff to work as cashiers responsible for the day-to-day operation of members’ accounts.

Working Pattern:              Tuesday – Friday 9.30am until 5.30pm and Saturday 9.30am until 2.00pm

The ideal candidate will be committed to achieving high standards and will have:

Essential Criteria:

  • Excellent administration skills with attention to detail.
  • The self-confidence to handle member queries to ensure member needs are met.
  • To provide a friendly and efficient service in delivering the range of financial products and facilities offered by Lurgan Credit Union to its members.
  • Excellent communication skills together with the necessary interpersonal skills for a team environment are essential.
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths at grade ‘C’ level or above
  • Computer skills including experience of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both oral and written
  • Recent experience of dealing with customers, face to face, telephone, email and online
  • Experience of handling and being responsible for large volumes of cash and cheques

Desirable Criteria:

It would also be advantageous:

  • To have had previous experience working in a credit union or other financial organisation
  • To have knowledge and understanding of GDPR legislation
